1. who is responsible

MEESTO is operated by Industrial Binaries s.r.o., IČO 08175756, registered at Na Maninách 1424/23, Holešovice, 170 00 Praha 7, Czech Republic. Industrial Binaries s.r.o. is the controller of personal data described in this policy.

2. information we collect

account and profile information

When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and, if Apple provides them, your name and email address. We also store the nickname and profile canvas you choose in MEESTO.

crew and shared content

We store the information needed for private crews, including crew names, invite codes, membership and roles. Content you choose to share can include photos, drawings, text, stickers, post versions, comments, replies, reactions, likes, mentions, shrine offerings, display names, and timestamps. We also record who has seen or interacted with content so crew features work.

device, notification, and diagnostic information

We process installation and user identifiers, push-notification and Live Activity tokens, notification preferences and authorization state, app version, device and operating-system information, and technical logs. Crash reports can include diagnostic details and internal identifiers such as a crew, post, comment, or request ID. We do not intentionally place the text or image from a post in a crash report.

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used in aggregate, such as app opens, sessions, screens viewed, which features are used (for example that a post was published and how many photos, clips, stickers, or text layers it held, or that a comment, reaction, or invite happened), app version, device model, operating-system version, language, and approximate region. These events never include the content of posts or comments, names, search terms, or crew, post, or account identifiers, and are tied only to an app-instance identifier generated by Firebase. MEESTO does not use the advertising identifier, does not show ads, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

camera, photos, and clipboard

Camera and photo access happen only when you choose those features. Media stays on your device while you edit and is uploaded when you publish or save a profile canvas.

On launch, MEESTO can ask iOS whether the clipboard probably contains a web link. It reads the clipboard only after that check finds a likely link, and only uses it if it is a MEESTO invite link. iOS may show its standard paste notice.

gif and sticker searches

If you search for or browse gifs and animated stickers, your search term or trending request is sent directly to KLIPY together with ordinary network information such as your IP address. We do not send your MEESTO account ID to KLIPY.

3. how we use information

We use personal data to:

• authenticate you and maintain your account;
• create crews, enforce invite-only membership, and deliver shared content;
• provide posts, edits, comments, reactions, profiles, widgets, notifications, and Live Activities;
• restore content and preferences across launches and devices;
• generate playful crew badges described below;
• protect the service, investigate reports, prevent misuse, and enforce our terms;
• diagnose crashes, operate the service, and improve reliability;
• measure how the app is used so we can improve it; and
• comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.

Where applicable, our legal bases are performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing MEESTO, your consent for optional device permissions, and compliance with law.

4. daily crew badge generation

MEESTO uses Google Cloud Vertex AI with a Gemini model to generate short, playful member badges. The model receives a crew name, member identifiers and display names, join and activity timestamps, counts of posts and interactions, reaction labels, and up to four recent short comment samples per member. Each sample is limited to 80 characters.

Photos, canvases, and full post documents are not sent to the model for this feature. The generated badge is stored with the relevant crew membership. Google states that it does not use Vertex AI customer data to train or fine-tune models without permission, but may temporarily cache or log limited data to provide and protect the service.

5. who can see information

Shared content is intended for the members of the crew where it was posted. MEESTO has no public content feed or user directory. Your profile identity can be shown to signed-in people who encounter it through a shared crew or an invitation.

Anyone holding a crew's invite link can see that crew's name and member count on the join page. Treat an invite link like a key and rotate it if it reaches someone it was not meant for.

Home-screen widgets use hard-to-guess, tokenized image links so iOS can retrieve the latest rendition. Those links are not listed publicly, but someone who obtains a link could access that rendition.

6. service providers

We share information only as needed to operate MEESTO, comply with law, or protect people and the service:

• Apple provides Sign in with Apple, push delivery, and App Store distribution.
• Google Firebase and Google Cloud provide authentication, databases, file storage, server functions, push messaging, app protection, crash reporting, usage analytics, hosting, and the Vertex AI badge feature.
• KLIPY provides gif and sticker search and media delivery.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy commitments. They may process information outside your country, including in the United States. We rely on legally recognized safeguards where required for international transfers.

7. retention and deletion

We keep account, crew, and shared content while it is needed to provide MEESTO. Local drafts and caches remain on your device until you remove them, clear the cache, sign out where applicable, or uninstall the app.

You can delete your account from Settings. Account deletion removes your account, profile, device records and tokens, private drafts, and shrine. Posts you made and offerings you left in shared crews may remain so the crew's shared history still works. Removal from active systems can take time, and limited encrypted backups and provider logs may remain for up to 180 days where needed for security, disaster recovery, or legal compliance. Firebase Crashlytics generally retains crash information for 90 days. Google Analytics retains user-level usage data for up to 14 months.

8. your choices and rights

You can change your nickname and notification preferences, leave crews, manage iOS permissions, and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data.

Send a request to hey@meesto.app. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you. If you are in the European Economic Area, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In Czechia, that is the Office for Personal Data Protection.

9. children

MEESTO is not directed to children under 13. You must also meet the minimum age required to consent to online services where you live, or have valid permission from a parent or guardian where local law allows it.

10. security and changes

We use access controls, invite-only crews, encrypted network connections, and provider security tools to protect information. No service can guarantee absolute security, so please report concerns to us promptly.

We may update this policy when the product or law changes. We will change the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects your rights or how we use information.
